Adaptive Contention Window MAC Protocol in a Global View for Emerging Trends Networks

Massive tremendous amount of miniaturized wireless Internet Things (IoT) devices are widely employed in many fields such as industrial production, social life, public (and defense) security and management human society. The limitation node device's energy capacity is the bottleneck issue these network systems. MAC protocol a key communication for sensor nodes which both rationally saves (an alternative to harvesting way) improves performances networks. There complex tradeoff optimization relationships between size contention window consumption, delay collision, too large or small value cannot make performance optimal. This paper firstly gives an algorithm through theoretical analysis, can achieve compromise consumption (i.e. harvesting) delay. Then, global view based adaptive (GV-ACW) proposed further reduce latency improve harvesting. GV-ACW adopts optimized near sink area meet functional requirements data forwarding, while far area, larger than it required by transmission so thereby whole. analysis experimental results show that, comparing with previous protocol, realize effective resulting increasement lifetime 6% 15%.
